In Kurt Vonnegut's book 'Slaughterhouse Five' he examines time and death with a rather unusual stance. He introduces an alien race (The Tralfamadorians), who experience reality in four dimensions meaning that they have total access to the past, present and future and can see into any moment in time at will.

Because Tralfamadorians believe that when a being dies it is just as alive in other times and places, their response to death is always "So it goes." They see a dead person as being in very poor condition but just as alive and jumping in the past.

Vonnegut uses the term to mark an important death in 'Slaughterhouse Five' and it's long been a favorite expression to his fans. This shirt and poster design was created with that in mind.

Kurt Vonnegut examines alternate reality and time in many of his books. One favorite idea is that time is like a strand of beads and that within each bead, everything is suspended in that particular moment. At either sides of that bead will be beads holding the past and the future and so on and so on. Interesting thought.
